1st “MusiCup” Conducting Masterclass

UDINE (UD), 25/29 March 2020. With Maestro Douglas Bostock. In occasion of the 3rd “MusiCup” Youth Wind Band Competition

The British conductor Douglas Bostock is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the internationally acclaimed Southwest German Chamber Orchestra (since 2019) and Honorary Conductor of the Argovia Philharmonic in Switzerland.

He has been Principal Conductor of the Argovia Philharmonic, of the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Czech Chamber Philharmonic and the Munich Symphony Orchestra. He conducts leading orchestras in Europe, Asia, and North America, e.g., the BBC orchestras, the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, New Japan Philharmonic, Sapporo Symphony, Nagoya Philharmonic, Kyoto Symphony, Japan Century, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Gunma Symphony, and Geidai Philharmonia. Douglas Bostock has recorded around 100 CDs.

He is a former Guest Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts, and is Visiting Professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Japan. His conducting master classes in many countries enjoy great popularity.

 22:30 Ending Finale with presentation of diplomas*
 * not obligatory. Active participants of the Masterclass will, however, receive all scores for the 28th March band programme and are welcome to attend Maestro Bostock’s rehearsals.            

 All other parts of the Masterclass (26th and 27th March) are mandatory for active participants.

Scheduled times may vary due to organizing needs.

 All inscriptions must be made by email and should include:

  1. Curriculum vitae with musical education and conducting experience
  2. Repertoire list (conducted main works)
  3. A link to a short video of the applicant conducting, made in the last 12 months. Please send a direct link like youtube, without the necessity to download

Applications must be sent by 14th February 2020 sending all the documents to email info@bandacastions.it.

Announcement of active participants will be made by 17th February 2020

Inscriptions could be closed in advance by reaching the maximum number of participants.
